Cyberkind Campaign

Please join in our campaign to reduce the effects of cyberbullying on all internet users and in particular children who are bullied at school.

Our Campaign Aim:

To promote Act Against Bullying’s values and beliefs in motivating and inspiring others primarily but not exclusively to help children who are bullied at school in the following way:

1. To attract all internet users to the cause to aid Act Against Bullying in counteracting cyberbullying of children.

2. To raise awareness of the positive benefits that kindness and recognition of civilised behaviour on the internet can have on the esteem of all, but primarily that of young people.

3. To engender goodwill across social networking sites used by young people to enhance and nurture peaceful and cooperating relationships for the good of all.

Why This Campaign Came About
Social networking is now not just a way of life, but the way of life for so many—and young people in particular. However, with cyberbullying on the increase right across the social spectrum we are urging to join in AAB’s Cyberkind Campaign.

In other words, let’s get out there into cyberspace and counter the negative effects of unpleasantness on the net. After all, didn’t the internet begin with a community of open-minded, free-sharing people who were passionate about sharing information and developing a means of communication available to all? Of course that was before spam, before internet marketing, before cyberstalking, etc.

How You Can Be Involved.

Here is a chance to promote and reward any kind acts on the internet. Our goal is to create goodwill and as a result reduce the incidents and effects of deliberate malice. so how can you do it?

1. Try and perform a random act of cyberkindness everytime you log on.

2. Identify any user of the internet (all age groups - we need adult role models too) who is helpful, courteous or inspirational and reward their efforts with our campaign award. Coming soon.

3. Add a link to this page from your site and encourage others to join this campaign. .

4. Assess your friends and co-workers and give them an award if suitable. This can be someone of any age. We are seeking role models to inspire young people and educate them on the positive power of internet communication

.
5. Organise a CyberKind Conference at your school or place or work to discuss social networking sites and how you can help spread the pro-social messages of this campaign.
